“In 2005 my mother, Sue passed away from Pancreatic Cancer. She inspired me by the way she lived and by giving back to others. My 3 siblings and I were fortunate to grow up in a household with parents who encouraged and supported us to do our best. My mother realized that many children did not have parental role models to help them meet the challenges of growing up. In the mid 1970’s, my Mom joined forces with a group of individuals with a vision to develop a program that mentored “At Risk” children. It was at this time that Big Brothers Big Sisters was formed at our kitchen table. The rest is history. Big Brothers Big Sisters has grown to support hundreds of one-to-one mentoring relationships in both Cumberland and Salem Counties. My mother would be very proud of the progress that has been made. I want to continue one of the legacies she started. There is nothing more worthwhile than making a difference in the life of a child. That is why I have chosen to support Big Brothers Big Sisters.”
