Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties (BBBS) is excited to announce that Kenneth F. Dondero has joined the organization’s Board of Trustees.
BBBS provides children facing adversity with strong and enduring, professionally supported one-to-one mentoring relationships. The Board of Trustees provides financial and strategic support and guidance to further the organization’s mission and vision. The Board is a diverse, compassionate, and dedicated group of individuals working together to help change children’s lives for the better.
“We are honored and excited to have such creative, thoughtful, and committed leaders on the Board of Trustees,” said Donna Bennett, President and CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties. “We are thrilled about our newest member Ken Dondero, whose vision, passion, and business experience will be a wonderful addition in our ongoing efforts to help build trusting and enduring mentoring relationships that encourage and support young people.”
Mr. Dondero was born and raised in Vineland, and for the last 40 years has been a co-owner of Dondero’s Jewelry. He attended St. Augustine Prep, and then went on to St. Joseph’s University in Philadelphia where he earned a B.S. degree in Marketing/Management Science. He has been married to his wife Julie for 38 years, and has two wonderful sons, Jesse, who resides in San Francisco, California, and, Brian, who lives in Millville.
Mr. Dondero is also active in the community and in many professional organizations. He is a former President and Board Member of the St. Augustine Prep Alumni Association, as well as the Cumberland Cape Atlantic YMCA. He is currently a Board Member and past resident of the Vineland Rotary Club and serves on the Century Savings Bank Board of Directors. Ken was also selected as a Cumberland County Hometown Hero in 2017.
“I accept the invitation to join the BBBS Board with great pride,” Dondero said. “I am excited to begin working with my fellow Board members, and to doing all we can to further the reach of Big Brothers Big Sisters throughout Cumberland Salem Counties.”
