Hometown Heroes
CUMBERLAND COUNTY – on Friday, March 23, 2018, Donna Bennett, President/CEO of Cumberland & Salem Counties Inc. was recognized at the Hometown Heroes Gala Event for going above and beyond the giving of her personal time to make Vineland and the surrounding areas a better place in which to live and work by helping friends, family members and total strangers who are in need.
Non Profit Sector South Jerseyan of the Year
CAMDEN — On Thursday, April 28, 2016, Donna Bennett, President/CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties Inc. was recognized for her work in the non-profit sector at the Rutgers 15th Annual Walter and Leah Rand Awards and Scholarship Dinner.
Each year the Rutgers Senator Walter Rand Institute for Public Affairs honors the contributions of South Jersey’s Leading Citizens.
Bennett has been the President/CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties since 1992. During her tenure, the organization has experienced annual revenue and program growth. In 2015, the organization served 387 local children, 304 through one-to-one mentoring and 83 through special event activities.
Cumberland County Women’s Hall of Fame
In 2014 President/CEO Donna Bennett was inducted into the Cumberland County Women’s Hall of Fame. The Women’s Hall of Fame honors local women of outstanding achievement who have made significant contributions to a profession, the community and/or women’s issues and it also gives scholarships to young women graduating from Cumberland County’s high schools and going on to higher education.
National Recognition
In 2015, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties again has received national recognition for the third consecutive year. This agency is 1 of 43 out of 309 agencies to receive the Quality Award because they met or exceeded the following goals in 2015:
In 2014, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties received national recognition from Big Brothers Big Sister of America. This agency was 4 of 330 agencies to receive the Pinnacle Award. This award goes to agencies that have met all qualifications for the Gold Standard Award for two or more consecutive years. All agencies that earned the Gold Standard/Pinnacle Award are eligible for both Agency and Board of the Year and for 2014 this agency’s Board won for Board of the Year.
In 2013 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties received national recognition from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Among the 300 + agencies, this agency received the Gold Standard Award for pace setting performance in quality growth and increased revenue.
In 2008 Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties received national recognition from Big Brothers Big Sisters of America. Among 400 agencies, this agency received The Gold Standard Award for pace setting performance in quality growth and increased revenue. Also, in the small agency category, the Board of Trustees were finalists for Board of the Year, and our President/CEO received the CEO of the Year Award.
