Make a Difference in a Child’s Life – Become a Big with BBBS!

Every child deserves a champion—someone who believes in them, encourages them, and helps them reach their full potential. At Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties, we’re looking for mentors like you to step up and make a lasting impact on a young person’s life.

Right now, we have an urgent need for Community-Based Mentors. Summer can be a tough time for kids who lack positive role models and engaging activities. By becoming a Community-Based Big, you can provide guidance, friendship, and fun experiences that will shape a child’s future. Whether it’s playing a game of basketball, exploring a local park, or simply sharing a meal, your time and support can make all the difference.

If you’re not available to start during the summer, we’re also seeking mentors for our fall programs:

Mentor 2.0 is a program that matches high school juniors from Cumberland County Technical Education Center (CCTEC) with mentors who have either a college degree or significant professional experience. The mentor helps their student as they prepare for college and throughout their freshman year, giving them a unique, supportive experience as they enter their next educational and professional steps.

Are you still a student yourself, but interested in volunteering with us? In our High School Mentoring program, we pair high school students with their younger peers. This partnership benefits both students, helping them each grow academically, socially, and emotionally. 

In our Site-Based Mentoring program, Bigs and Littles meet in a designated community location, which allows for structured, supervised activities. This is a great way to get involved if you want to be a Big, but worry you won’t know what to plan.

School-Based Mentoring is a great program that offers guidance and encouragement within a school setting. Students are able to grow both academically and socially in this program, and is a great opportunity for those already working in a school.

No matter which program fits your lifestyle, BBBS provides training and ongoing support to ensure a successful and rewarding mentoring experience. Even a few hours with a Big makes a huge impact on a student’s life in so many ways.
