Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties (BBBS) is happy to welcome Maggie Vaughan as a Mentoring Relationship Specialist. Vaughan will be a great asset to the team as she focuses on match relationships.
As a Mentor Relationship Specialist, Vaughan will maintain active communication with bigs and littles to check in on how their time together is progressing. She will provide resources as needed, offer ideas to encourage relationship development, and be available for any questions or concerns that arise along the way. She will help foster a comfortable and positive friendship for each match.
Vaughan is no stranger to helping individuals develop and strengthen relationships. She worked in the field of drug and alcohol treatment and prevention for over 22 years. There she helped individuals access life-saving treatment, and she supported them and their families during the challenging days of recovery. She worked closely with non-profits and other social service agencies in the area to identify and coordinate further beneficial services for these individuals and their families.
Vaughan also volunteered as a big sister for eight years and found it to be an incredibly rewarding experience. “It has been so special to be a part of this organization whose focus is to support children and their families. I am excited to continue the mission of empowering youth and their potential through BBBS and grateful to be part of such a dedicated and inspiring team,” Maggie shared.
“Welcome to the team, Maggie, we are excited to have you,” shared Donna Bennett, President and CEO of BBBS. “I have no doubt that Maggie’s knowledge and experience will be a great asset to the work we do here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Cumberland & Salem Counties.”
When Vaughan is not working or investing her time at BBBS, she is spending time with family and friends. She also enjoys reading, cooking, watching football, and traveling. She especially enjoys road trips.
