Congratulations to Michele Plumbo, our 2016 Big Sister of the Year and Emmanual Gauffeny, our 2016 Big Brother of the Year !
Michele’s involvement with the agency began when she married and moved to Cumberland County. Michele’s new husband was involved with Big Brothers Big Sisters, and she liked what she saw. Michele volunteered to perform Graphic and Web design for the agency. She continues to volunteer working on fundraisers, and as Secretary for the Board of Trustees.
Michele and her Little Sister of four years, Danielle, share a variety of activities. They bake, bowl, volunteer, talk about life issues and generally have lots of fun.
Emmanual, who is married with four children, wanted to give back to the community and to help a child grow into a good person, became a Big Brother. He was matched with Little Brother Tommy in 2013. Their match is truly multicultural since Emmanual is French and Tommy is Asian.
Tommy likes to spend time with Emmanual’s family, especially attending sporting events. Of course during the summer months Tommy really likes to spend time at Emmanual’s swimming pool.
Together Emmanual and Tommy shared their match experiences at a golf tournament last summer and at the Salem County Rise & Shine Breakfast this past December.
